Save the Date: Yanalangami’s 2026 International Women’s Day Celebration

We’re excited to invite our community to Yanalangami’s 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) Event, a celebration of the leadership, power, and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women across the country.

IWD’s 2026 theme, Balance the Scales, speaks strongly to the work we do. Since first delivering the program in 2021, our Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities Program has supported women to recognise and grow their inherent leadership skills, empowering them to uplift families, communities, and Nations. As of November 2025, 173 First Nations women have graduated from the Yanalangami Changemaker program, and 69 women have been engaged as Aboriginal Advisory Council (AAC) members to provide strong cultural governance and oversight.

Our 2026 celebration will also mark the official launch of our sixth year of the Yanalangami National Online Program, a milestone made possible by the incredible women who continue to show up for themselves, for each other, and for future generations.

Event Details:

  • Date: Friday, 6 March 2026
  • Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
  • Where: Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative (13 Mansfield Street, Gadigal Country, Glebe, NSW 2037)

What to Expect:

  • Guest speakers sharing stories of leadership, lived experience, and cultural strength
  • Interactive activities designed to spark connection and reflection
  • A delicious feed, enjoyed together as community
  • A space to yarn, learn, and celebrate the power of First Nations women

Whether you’re a past Changemaker, a future Changemaker, or a supporter of Yanalangami’s vision, we would love for you to join us for this special day!

Stay tuned and keep up to date with our socials, with more details coming soon.

With deep respect,
The Yanalangami Team
