The Yanalangami: Strong Women, Strong Communities Program is coming to Yawuru Country, Broome WA! Our Yanalangami Yawuru place-based 3-day in-person Program is open to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women aged 18+, living on or near Yawuru Country, in Broome WA. Our program will run from Friday 11th – Sunday 13th October 2024 inclusive

We are so excited to be collaborating with Nyamba Buru Yawuru, a grass-roots, First Nations-led Community organisation based on Yawuru Country, to help us co-design this unique, place-based program!

Powered by Tranby Aboriginal Cooperative and supported by the Department of Prime Minster and Cabinet’s Office for Women, Yanalangami is a Culturally-safe leadership and empowerment program for First Nations women, connecting them to a sisterhood of other deadly women, and providing support and tools to thrive. ‘Yanalangami’ is a Dharug word, meaning ‘we walk together, me and you’, and that is exactly what this program is all about.

First Nations women are the backbones of our Communities, and we do so much to care for our children, families, Community, and Country. Often, we forget to care for ourselves too. Yanalangami provides a safe-space to recharge, self-reflect, build confidence, fill up your cup, and connect and heal with other like-minded women.

If this program sounds like something you would benefit from, and you would like to join our supportive sisterhood, make sure you nominate yourself or another deadly woman in your Community via the application buttons above! Yanalangami Yawuru will select 16 women making change and showing grass-roots leadership in local Community.
