Growing Stronger communities

We know that when you can see it, you can be it. That is why Yanalangami works to bring Indigenous female Changemakers together to share stories and skills, and to support one another along their individual leadership journeys.

Making our communities stronger and safer

Investing in the development of national Indigenous women’s leadership networks makes our communities stronger and safer. After completing the Yanalangami program, our Changemaker graduates are invited to join the National Yanalangami Networks, which includes:

  • Monthly yarn-ups – led by Changemakers, to inspire, connect and share with the Yanalangami sisterhood.
  • Access to the National contact register – encouraging women to build relationships with deadly women around Australia.
  • Engagement with the Yanalangami Changemakers podcast.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands called Australia and pay our deep respects to Elders, both past and present, who are the carriers of wisdom, language, lore and Country. Yanalangami recognises our women, our matriarchs, as the backbone of Community. We are grateful to walk in your footsteps and humbled knowing that because of you, we can.

Our Yanalangami office is located on the unceded lands of the Gadigal peoples. We recognise and pay our respects to this land, acknowledging the Gadigal peoples’ unbroken connection and custodianship to the land, waterways and sky Country. Throughout Australia, everywhere we walk, always was and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
